Volodymyr Zelensky shared his plans on blockchain
Today, May 23, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at the iForum 2019 conference, mentioning the blockchain technology during his speech.
“Speaking of innovation and politics, I want to say that officials, politicians and innovations are two different worlds, and it’s a catastrophe. It seems that people with innovations and politicians live on different planets. Officials, as a rule, use only 4 words: innovation, digitalisation, “hyperloop” and Elon Musk. After that, they say that “we have said everything and we need to change something. I cannot change anything on my own, we have to do it together, because you have more brains than I do,” the president said.
At the same time, he outlined the example of Elon Musk.
“I don’t want to make empty promises, that in five years we will have 100,500 Tesla factories connected by Hyperloop and Elon Musk will cut the red ribbon,” Zelensky said.
Zelensky also said that
Ukraine is moving along the path of innovation.
“How can a security forces official blackmail you with document extraction if the documents are digital?” How yet another raider can possibly change the owner in the registry if that registry is on
blockchain? It's impossible. How to do it? I like the approach of Apple - the best employees are brought together, and their task is to determine in which industry the company can make a technological break through today. In order to make low tariffs - you need to move to renewable energy. To improve the quality of transport, it is necessary to develop eco-transport, ” he said.
Meanwhile, the president plans to move the state into smartphones.
“You can consider me a naive dreamer, but we want to create the state in a smartphone, the government in a smartphone. I can not handle it without you, but it's time to do it! It may be introduced through at levels: information about the state, communication with the state, transactions with the state and, as a result, involvement in the government,” he added.
